CONFIRMED. Anthropic launched Claude Marketplace on September 23, a single storefront bringing together connectors, plugins, agents, partner products and consulting firms in one place. The company frames the move as the next step after Claude became a daily work tool inside thousands of companies: now it is organizing the ecosystem that grew around the model.
More than 2,000 connectors and plugins are available at launch, including integrations with Atlassian, Google, Microsoft, Notion and Salesforce. These connectors link Claude to tools a company already uses, without forcing a team to switch systems just to get AI inside its existing workflow.
A second group covers products built on Claude and sold by partners such as CrowdStrike, Cursor, Harvey, Legora, Lovable and Snowflake. The practical novelty here is committed spend: customers who already hold an Anthropic contract can apply part of that spend toward software from these partners, cutting through procurement cycles that usually take months.
The third path is consulting. Firms such as Accenture, Boston Consulting Group and Deloitte join the marketplace as implementation partners, for organizations that need help putting Claude into production with proper governance.
Technically, the marketplace runs on two open standards Anthropic itself helped popularize: the Model Context Protocol, used to connect the model to external systems, and Agent Skills, the format that packages reusable instructions and tools for an agent. That means developers outside Anthropic can publish their own connectors using the same infrastructure.
For a small or midsize Brazilian company, the practical value is not the headline number of 2,000 options, it is lower friction to try tools that already solve a specific problem, such as customer service, CRM or document automation, without integrating everything from scratch. The flip side is clear: more connectors mean more places sensitive data can travel through, and every new connection deserves a plain question about permission and scope before it gets switched on.
The editorial read is straightforward. Claude stopped competing only as a model and started competing as a distribution platform, something OpenAI has been building with its own app ecosystem. Worth watching, over the coming months, how many of those 2,000 connectors get real recurring use instead of staying a launch day number.
